Cave Troll

I Drew this character over a game of tabletop D&D last night in between turns. I just started playing for the first time ever a few months ago (and am enjoying it). I scanned this guy in today and cleaned him up a bit.

He is a cave troll.

Lunchtime sketch from earlier. Just messing with textures, warp tool, and color.

This was a sketch done for a friend. He's putting together a sketchbook that he is going to sell and donate the proceeds to a community that does stuff for autistic children. It should be at the san diego comic con this year. This was my donation:

Warping in fungi

Update: A Random quick environment, i'm just trying out a tool i never use, the warp tool, to get those lines stretched around the fungus like plants in the below painting.

Also i want to give credit on the warp tool idea to Levi Hopkins, a concept artist on Guildwars 2. I asked him over at his blog how he was stretching brushes and he was nice enough to tell me he was using the warp tool. This is some kind of alien landscape, snow environment. Really just practicing painting with the smudge brush + a few other custom brushes in photoshop, & playing around a bit with color:

UPDATE:
I finally got around to some more painting; i started this one this morning @ home with a mouse, then brought it to work and over lunch decided to challenge myself to not use my fancy cintiq and instead finish it with a mouse.

Surprisingly it felt much less limiting than i expected... Its almost nice in the way that it doesn't let me noodle... but i'll still use my cintiq/pen tablet. Mice are not terribly comfortable on the hand to draw with.
